Site Health & SEO

Quarterly retainer for technical SEO, site health monitoring, analytics, and reporting.

A practical reference for what gets checked each quarter on your site, what you receive, and what falls outside the plan. This page serves as your scope of work. For clients on Site Health Lite or SEO & Site Optimization plans.

Search engines change how they rank and crawl. AI tools pull answers from pages with clear structure. Content accumulates, links break, and performance degrades as scripts pile up. A quarterly check catches these while they are still small.

I monitor your site's technical health, search visibility, and analytics accuracy so problems are caught early, search engines see your site correctly, and your data is trustworthy.

This is not content marketing, link building, or ad management. It's the technical foundation that makes those efforts work.

Health checks

Reviewed monthly, summarized quarterly. These keep the foundation stable.

Automated monitoring confirms your site is reachable and responding correctly. Downtime is flagged immediately so it can be addressed before visitors or search engines notice.

Your SSL certificate enables the padlock and HTTPS. We check expiry dates, HSTS configuration, and that all traffic is redirected to HTTPS. An expired or misconfigured certificate can block visitors entirely.

A crawl of your site catches links that lead to 404 pages, redirect loops, or unnecessarily long redirect chains. These are fixed or flagged with recommended actions.

DNS settings are verified to ensure your domain resolves correctly, email deliverability is not affected, and no orphaned records cause confusion.

Search and indexation

Making sure search engines see the right pages and ignore the rest.

Coverage messages are reviewed for errors, warnings, and excluded pages. Any pages that should be indexed but are not are investigated and fixed.

Pages excluded by robots.txt, noindex tags, or canonical conflicts are reviewed to ensure they are excluded intentionally. Crawl errors are investigated and resolved.

Canonical tags on core pages are verified to point to the correct preferred URL. The sitemap is checked for accuracy, valid lastmod dates, and proper structure. Robots.txt is reviewed to confirm it is not blocking important content.

Any changed or removed URLs are mapped with proper redirects so visitors and search engines reach the right page. Existing redirects are tested to confirm they still resolve correctly.

Bing indexation status and crawl data are reviewed for errors or coverage gaps. While lower traffic than Google, Bing powers results in Copilot, DuckDuckGo, and other surfaces.

A small, directional set of keywords is tracked quarterly to monitor visibility trends. Not a ranking report — a check on whether the site is moving in the right direction for the terms that matter.

Analytics

Making sure your numbers are trustworthy and measuring what matters.

Confirmed that analytics tracking fires correctly on all key pages. Missing or duplicate tracking scripts are flagged and fixed.

Goals and events are reviewed to confirm they are measuring the actions that matter to your organization: form submissions, booking clicks, downloads, or other key interactions.

Spot checks compare dashboard numbers against raw data to catch configuration drift. If numbers look off, the root cause is investigated and corrected.

Lite: Review using your Plausible dashboard.
Optimization: Full analytics support, Plausible or GA4.

Structured data and discovery

Helping search engines and AI tools understand your business clearly.

Existing structured data is checked for errors and warnings using Google's Rich Results Test. Missing schema for key entities (Organization, LocalBusiness, services) is flagged.

Lite: Spot checks on existing schema.
Optimization: Polish, validation, and new schema added where beneficial.

Key pages are checked for sensible internal links. Orphaned pages (pages with no internal links pointing to them) are identified. Link text is reviewed for clarity and relevance.

How your pages appear in search results is reviewed: titles, descriptions, and any rich results. Pages where the search snippet does not reflect the actual content are flagged for improvement.

Content decay, keyword cannibalization, striking distance keywords, and click-through rate benchmarks are reviewed quarterly. These identify pages losing ground, pages competing against each other, and opportunities within reach.

Performance and page experience

Keeping your site fast and usable on real devices.

Lighthouse is run on key pages (homepage, one service page, one content page) to check performance, accessibility, best practices, and SEO scores. Results are compared against the previous quarter to catch regressions.

For SEO & Site Optimization clients, Core Web Vitals are diagnosed in detail: Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint, and Cumulative Layout Shift. A prioritized fix list is provided.

Lite: Light tune-ups based on Lighthouse results.
Optimization: Deeper diagnostics with a prioritized fix list.

Large or unoptimized images are flagged. Third-party scripts (chat widgets, embedded forms, tracking pixels) are reviewed for performance impact. Unnecessary scripts are recommended for removal.

Key pages are verified on real mobile widths to confirm layouts, text, and interactive elements work correctly. Issues like horizontal scrolling, overlapping elements, or unreadable text are flagged.
