Background

Banff Transportation Group is a locally owned, family-operated company delivering exceptional service throughout the Canadian Rockies.

Outdated Design & Technology

The previous website suffered from an outdated design and technology, resulting in frequent error messages—especially when users tried to submit forms.

Poor Mobile Experience

Mobile users were redirected to a separate, less functional mobile version, leading to a clunky and frustrating experience.

Approach

Discovery & Research

  • Conducted in-depth discussions to understand the business and its unique value.
  • Reviewed competitor websites to identify best practices and user expectations for transportation sites.

Content Planning

  • Audited the old website to determine what content could be repurposed.
  • Collaborated with the client to develop new content and a content model for key sections.

Design & Prototyping

  • Created wireframes to illustrate the new site structure, layouts, and content flow.
  • Built a working website prototype for review, testing, and client feedback.

SEO & Launch Preparation

  • Planned the website launch to minimize disruptions in search engine visibility.
  • Set up redirects from old pages to new URLs to preserve SEO value.

Analytics & Training

  • Implemented privacy-friendly analytics with Plausible, including conversion and engagement tracking.
  • Provided client training on the new Statamic content management system.
